AI Drobe · Last updated 14 September 2026

Short version: the photographs of your clothes never leave your phone. Cutting out the background, reading the colours and composing an outfit all happen on the device itself, not on a server. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics. Two things use the internet, and both are things you ask for: buying a subscription, and turning on weather by location.

1. Who this policy is for

AI Drobe is a wardrobe and outfit app for a general audience: people who want to see what they own and decide what to wear. It is not directed to children and is not published in a children's category. The intended audience is 13 and over.

2. What we never collect

  • No name, email address, phone number, birthday or postal address.
  • No account and no login. The app has no sign-up screen.
  • No advertising, no advertising identifier, no ad network.
  • No analytics, no crash reporting service, no usage tracking.
  • No contacts, no calendar, no health data, no social features.
  • No cloud storage and no sync. There is no copy of your wardrobe anywhere but your device.

3. Your photographs

When you photograph a piece of clothing, the picture is processed on the device and the result, a cut out image with a transparent background, is written into the app's own private storage. The original camera frame is discarded. Nothing is uploaded, and no one, including us, can see your wardrobe.

On iPhones running iOS 17 or later the background is removed by Apple's Vision framework, which is part of the operating system and runs entirely offline. On every other device AI Drobe uses its own algorithm, which also runs entirely offline. No image is sent anywhere for processing. Background removal downloads nothing at all. The Mirror, the optional feature that reviews a photograph of what you are wearing, is the one part that needs a download: you choose a model, and the app fetches it once from a public Hugging Face repository. That request carries no personal data, only the file being asked for. Once it is on your phone the Mirror runs with no connection at all, and your photograph is read on the device and never leaves it.

4. Permissions and why they are asked for

  • Camera: to photograph a garment. Asked for only when you open the camera screen.
  • Photo library: to read the specific pictures you choose. AI Drobe never browses your library on its own; on iOS it uses the limited picker, so it only ever receives the items you pick.
  • Location: optional and off by default. If you switch on weather by location in Settings, AI Drobe asks for a coarse location once per lookup.

5. The two times the app uses the internet

Purchases. Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by the App Store or Google Play. To know whether a purchase is still valid, AI Drobe uses RevenueCat, which receives the store receipt and a random identifier it generates for your installation. That identifier is not linked to your name, your email or your wardrobe. See also Apple and Google.

Weather, only if you turn it on. With weather by location enabled, AI Drobe sends a coordinate rounded to two decimal places, roughly one kilometre, to Open-Meteo, a free forecast service that requires no account and no API key. Nothing else is sent: no identifier, no wardrobe, no photograph. Leave the setting off and the app never contacts it; you type the temperature yourself and the app works with no connection at all.

6. Where your data lives

Everything, the pieces, the saved looks, the wear history and the settings, is stored in the app's own private container on your device, in a local database and a folder of images. It is covered by your device's own encryption. If you back up your phone to iCloud or to Google, the backup includes this data and is governed by Apple and Google respectively.

7. Export and sharing

AI Drobe can export your wardrobe as a file. That is something you start, and the file goes wherever you send it through your own device's share sheet. We never receive it.

8. Children

AI Drobe is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Since the app collects nothing at all, there is nothing to delete; if you still have a concern, write to gelistirbizi@gmail.com.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. In practice the app holds no personal data on our side: access and portability are the export feature, deletion is uninstalling the app or using Delete all data in Settings. For anything held by RevenueCat, write to gelistirbizi@gmail.com and see the Data Deletion page.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and a material change will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
