HatLab has no account, no server of its own and no analytics. What you write stays on your device. The only thing that leaves it is the receipt that proves a purchase.

1. Who is responsible

2. What stays on your device

All of the following is written to the app's own storage on your device and is never uploaded:

• The sheets you keep, as images.
• Every graded attempt: the score, the five graded dimensions, the measured letter height and the mean reed angle.
• Your nib calibration, the hand you last practised, the ink and paper you chose, and your settings.

The publisher cannot see any of it. It is not backed up to any service run by the publisher, and it does not move to another device. If you delete the app, it is gone.

3. What leaves your device

Only purchase verification. When you buy or restore Premium, the app asks RevenueCat, Inc. to check the receipt issued by Apple or Google. That request carries:

• a random anonymous identifier created on your device, which is not your name, your email or your device identifier,
• the store receipt or purchase token,
• the store country and the app version.

This is the legal basis of contract performance: without it the app cannot tell whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat acts as a processor. Its privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

4. What the app never collects

• No name, email address or account of any kind.
• No advertising identifier, and no advertising.
• No analytics, no usage tracking, no crash reporting.
• No camera, microphone, location or contacts. The app asks for no permission on iOS, and on Android only network access and network state, neither of which is a runtime permission.
• No access to your photo library. Sharing a sheet hands the image to the system share sheet, which needs no permission.

5. Children

HatLab is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them. It is made for adult students of calligraphy. It carries no ads, no chat and no external links except the ones on this page and the store.

6. How long anything is kept

On your device: until you erase it in Settings or delete the app. At RevenueCat: for as long as the purchase record is needed to keep your entitlement working. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their own policies.

7. Your rights

You can erase everything the app holds at any time: Settings, then Erase progress and sheets. For the purchase record, write to gelistirbizi@gmail.com from the address you can be reached at and it will be deleted within 30 days, subject to the records Apple and Google are required to keep. Under the GDPR and under KVKK you also have the right to access, rectification, restriction and complaint to your supervisory authority.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it and the new version is published here before the app version that relies on it.
