Kids Read Daily · Last updated 5 September 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Kids Read Daily mobile application (the “App”), published by Safiye Meram (“we”, “us”). The App is made for primary school children, so these Terms are addressed to the parent or legal guardian who installs it. By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please delete the App.

1. Who may use the App

Kids Read Daily is directed to children, typically between six and eleven years old. A parent or legal guardian must read and accept these Terms on the child's behalf, must supervise the child's use of the App, and remains responsible for every purchase made in it. Settings, purchases and progress reset live behind a parent gate: a multiplication question that a young child is not expected to answer.

2. What the App does

The App presents illustrated public domain stories one card at a time, sorted into shelves by school grade. It assigns a daily reading quest, tracks which pages the child has read, awards stars and keeps a reading streak. A read-aloud button speaks the text of the current page. Everything the App records is kept on your own device.

3. The stories and the artwork

The stories are classic tales that are in the public domain, retold and shortened for young readers: among them tales by the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Aesop, Beatrix Potter and Margery Williams. The public domain source texts belong to everyone. Our retellings, translations, illustrations and page design are our own work and are protected by copyright.

If you believe any content in the App infringes a right you hold, write to us at the address below and we will review it and remove the item if the claim is justified.

4. Read-aloud is your device speaking

The read-aloud button uses the speech synthesiser built into your phone or tablet. The quality of the voice, its accent and its pronunciation belong to the operating system, not to us, and they differ between devices. Some pronunciations will be imperfect, especially for names. Read-aloud is a support for a child who is learning to read, not a teaching method or a substitute for reading practice with an adult.

5. Reading levels are a guide

Grade shelves are a rough guide to reading difficulty, not an assessment of your child. Children read at very different levels at the same age. A parent may change the selected grade at any time from the family section, and is free to let the child read from any shelf.

6. Purchases

The first stories on every shelf are free. The remaining stories are unlocked by a purchase made through your App Store or Google Play account, and the purchase screen sits behind the parent gate. Payment is charged to that store account at confirmation.

If a purchase is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, it renews unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the account is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your store account settings at any time. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, not by us. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is active.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to decompile, reverse engineer or modify the App, use it unlawfully, or try to unlock paid stories without paying for them.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its retold texts, its illustrations and its design belong to us and are protected by copyright. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you control, for your own family's use.

9. Changes

We may change the App or these Terms, and we may add or remove stories. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.

10. Liability

The App is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any educational outcome expected from the App. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
