AI Notetaker · Last updated 13 September 2026

Short version: your recordings, transcripts and summaries stay on your phone. Speech recognition and summarising run on the device itself, not on a server. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics. Two things do use the internet, and both are things you ask for: downloading an AI model, and buying a subscription.

1. Who this policy is for

AI Notetaker is a voice note and meeting summary app for a general audience: people who record meetings, lectures and their own thoughts. It is not directed to children and is not published in a children’s category. The intended audience is 13 and over.

2. What we never collect

  • No name, email address, phone number, birthday or postal address.
  • No account and no login. The app has no sign-up screen.
  • No contacts, no location, no photos and no camera access.
  • No advertising identifiers, no advertising SDKs and no behavioural tracking.
  • No analytics or usage-profiling SDKs. We do not know how many recordings you make, which screens you open, or whether you opened the app at all.
  • No crash reporting service. A crash is not reported to us.

3. Your recordings and text stay on your device

Audio recordings are written to the app’s own storage. Transcripts, summaries, action items, tags and settings are stored in a database on the device that is encrypted with a key generated on first launch and kept in the device keystore (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore).

We do not receive this data and we run no server that could receive it. The app has no upload feature, no cloud sync and no backup to us. Once a model is installed you can put the phone in airplane mode and the whole flow still works, which is the simplest way to check this claim yourself.

4. The microphone

The microphone is the only permission the app asks for, and it asks at the moment you first press record. Recording continues while the screen is locked so that a long meeting is not cut short; on Android this is why a notification is shown while recording is in progress.

If you decline the permission the app still opens, and everything except recording keeps working.

5. Speech recognition and summaries run on the device

Transcription uses a Whisper model and summarising uses a small language model. Both run inside the app on your phone. Your audio is not sent to a transcription service and your text is not sent to a language model provider, because the app does not talk to either.

6. Downloading a model is the only content request

Models are not shipped inside the app; they are large, and which one suits your phone is your choice. When you tap download on the Models screen, the app fetches the file over HTTPS from Hugging Face. That request carries no personal data, no account and no identifier of you. Hugging Face, like any web host, will see the IP address the request comes from and the file that was requested, under its own privacy policy.

7. Purchases

Premium is optional. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card, your billing address or your store account.

To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat as its purchase provider. When you open the app, restore purchases or buy something, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user id, the store receipt for the purchase, and basic device and platform information such as the country and app version. It does not receive your name, your email address, your recordings or any note content. We use this only to unlock the features you paid for.

This is the only data that leaves your device, and it exists only because a purchase has to be verified somewhere other than the phone that claims to have made it.

8. Children

The app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, write to us at gelistirbizi@gmail.com.

9. Your rights and your data

Because your notes are on your device, you hold them directly: you can delete a single note, delete everything from Settings, or delete the app. See the Data Deletion page for what happens to purchase records. For questions about data protection rights under GDPR or KVKK, write to gelistirbizi@gmail.com.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. A change that affects what leaves your device would also be told to you inside the app.
