OptiBlink · Last updated 19 September 2026

OptiBlink measures how often you blink and how far your face is from the screen, using the front camera. Everything is computed on the device and no image is ever saved.

Who provides this app

OptiBlink is published by Safiye Meram, Esenler/Istanbul, Türkiye. You can reach us at gelistirbizi@gmail.com.

What OptiBlink does

  • Looks through the front camera while a tracking session is running, finds the outline of your eyelids, and works out how open they are many times a second. A short dip is a blink.
  • Reports your blink rate in blinks per minute and warns when it falls into the range associated with a dry, tired eye.
  • Estimates the distance between your face and the screen from the spacing of your pupils, and warns when you lean in closer than your chosen limit.
  • Runs the 20-20-20 timer: after twenty minutes of near work it asks you to look about six metres away for twenty seconds.
  • Dims its own screen very slightly for half a second when your blink rate is low, which prompts a blink without interrupting you. This can be turned off.
  • Keeps hourly totals on the device so you can see how the day went, and with Pro produces a weekly PDF report.

What OptiBlink never does

  • It does not record video or take photographs. Each camera frame is turned into a few numbers in memory and released immediately. There is no code in the app that writes a frame to a file and no code that transmits one.
  • It does not use the camera unless you have pressed Start. There is no background tracking and the app declares no background modes: closing or switching away from the app ends the session.
  • It does not identify you, recognise your face or build a face template. Nothing it computes could be used to tell one person from another.
  • It has no account, no sign-in and no cloud sync.
  • It shows no advertising and contains no analytics or tracking.

This is a wellbeing tool, not a medical device

OptiBlink is for comfort and ergonomics. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or screen for any condition, including dry eye disease, computer vision syndrome and myopia. It is not a substitute for an eye examination. Its distance and blink figures are estimates from a phone camera, not clinical measurements, and they should not be used to make a medical decision. If your eyes hurt, water, itch, or your vision changes, see an optometrist or an ophthalmologist.

Purchases

  • Two hours of tracking a day, the live blink meter, the 20-20-20 timer and today's summary are free.
  • OptiBlink Pro removes the daily limit and unlocks the live distance radar, the hourly dry-eye timeline, history beyond the last seven days, the weekly report and CSV export.
  • Pro is sold as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your own currency on the purchase screen before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not here.
  • The lifetime option is a single payment and does not renew.

Purchases are made through Apple or Google, and their terms apply in addition to these. For iOS, the Apple Standard EULA applies.

Using the app fairly

  • Use OptiBlink on yourself, or with the knowledge and agreement of whoever is in front of the camera.
  • Do not present an OptiBlink reading as a clinical measurement or as evidence of anything about someone's health.
  • Do not decompile the app or try to work around the purchase checks.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a health decision taken on the basis of a reading, for eye strain or any other symptom, or for data lost because the app was deleted. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence.
