Snoor · Last updated 15 September 2026

Your audio never leaves your device. Snoor has no account, no server for your recordings and no analytics.

The short version

  • Every sound is analysed on your phone, while it happens.
  • The audio that is not part of a detected event is never written anywhere. It passes through memory and is gone.
  • The clips that are saved, your nights, your scores and your settings stay on your phone.
  • The only data that leaves your device is what is needed to verify a purchase.

Who is responsible

Safiye Meram, Esenler/Istanbul, Türkiye. Contact: gelistirbizi@gmail.com.

The microphone permission

Snoor asks for the microphone because listening is what the app does. The permission is used only while a tracking session is running, which you start yourself and end yourself. On Android a notification stays visible for the whole session, so you can always see that the phone is listening.

You can withdraw the permission at any time in your system settings. Snoor then stops detecting anything, and nothing else changes.

How the audio is handled

The microphone stream is held in a short rolling buffer in memory, a few seconds long, which is continuously overwritten. The app measures each fragment as it arrives. When a fragment is classified as snoring, sleep talking, coughing or teeth grinding, the surrounding five seconds are written to a file in the app's private storage. Everything else is overwritten and never touches the disk.

You can turn clip saving off entirely in Settings. Snoor then keeps only counts and loudness levels, and writes no audio at all.

What stays on your device

  • The clips: short audio files in the app's own container.
  • Your nights: start and end time, sleep score, event counts, loudness levels, the per minute graph and the breathing estimate.
  • Your settings, including the app language, the detection sensitivity and the alarm.

This data is stored in the app's own container. Deleting Snoor deletes all of it. Because it is local, it does not move to a new phone and it is excluded from cloud backups.

What leaves your device

Exactly one thing: purchase verification. When you buy or restore Snoor Pro, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated user identifier, the store receipt, your country and the app version, and tells the app whether Pro is active. This identifier is not linked to your name, your email or your recordings, and we cannot use it to identify you.

The payment itself is processed by Apple or Google. We never see your card details.

If you never buy anything, Snoor makes no network request at all. You can confirm this by running a whole night in airplane mode: everything works exactly the same.

When you share a clip

Sharing a clip is always something you do deliberately, one clip at a time, through your phone's own share sheet. Where it goes after that is decided by the app you chose, under that app's privacy policy. Snoor has no part in it and keeps no record.

What we do not do

  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics, no usage tracking, no crash reporting.
  • No speech recognition. Snoor measures the shape of a sound, not the words in it, and it has no transcript of anything you said.
  • No profiling, no automated decisions with legal effect.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data. There is nothing to sell.

How long data is kept

  • On device data: until you delete it in the app or uninstall Snoor.
  • Purchase records: kept by RevenueCat and the stores for as long as needed for the subscription and for legal accounting periods.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and under Turkish law number 6698 (KVKK) you may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data about you, and you may object to processing. Since the only personal data we can reach is the purchase record, that is what such a request covers. Write to gelistirbizi@gmail.com and we answer within 30 days. See the data deletion page for the exact steps.

Children

Snoor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
